The Importance Of The Quick First Steps
Is it enough to become aware and learn? Let's see, why it is important to get into Action mode quickly.
There is an old saying that goes "Well begun is half done". There is a principle in physics that explains a body continues to remain in a state of rest unless there is an external force that disturbs it. Without this external force, the body will remain at rest. Once in motion however we need lesser and lesser external energy to keep the body in motion; just enough to overcome opposing forces that can stop the momentum. Its own inner momentum contributes to keeping it going. In a state of motion, its movement will attract the attention of further external forces that can help it accelerate.
Imagine a person who is hurt and has fallen down. He needs to take some action to attract attention. Call out for help, move a little. Once he gets the first level of help other possibilities can then open up. Taking the first steps quickly is therefore so very helpful.
Taking action when we are motivated and committing to giving it some time on a weekly basis is very important for us to move forward in the direction of our aspirations.
Acting also deepens our actual learning. We retain very less when we only learn through auditory and visual means. However, when we act and reflect, then the learnings become much deeper. For knowledge givers, it is interesting to know that the deepest learning happens when we teach others by first simplifying the complex structures in our own minds and then suggesting simple to-do activities that can lead people to experience the same knowledge that we have acquired.
In the context of bringing change in human consciousness in terms of it becoming more sensitive to Earth and Humanity, taking quick action also shows commitment. Commitment shows a true willingness to change. The deeper this willingness, the more will be the addition to the collective consciousness of humankind seeking change.
Initial acts could be small and within our easy-to-do range. Once we taste initial success that itself will motivate us to larger steps. Consistent micro changes in our habits will all come together; year after year we will be able to see significant changes in our response and behavior patterns concerning issues that matter to our hearts.
